Original Victorian Era Zulu War Assegai Iklwa Short Spear circa 1879 MG 15 This is a really niceOriginal Item: Only One Available. Under Shaka Zulu, the Zulu warrior carried a short stabbing spear with an approximate 8 10 inch blade over 1. 5 inches wide fastened with wrapping to a 30" long wooden shaft. The ZULU IKLWA is a shorter style assegai. This weapon was known as the iklwa or ixwa for the sound that was heard as it was withdrawn from the victim's wound. Made famous in the Zulu Wars of South Africa, as seen in the films "Zulu" and "Zulu
